ToBeReaL Consortium Meets in Porto to Review Project Progress
On 20 May 2026, partners of the ToBeReaL project gathered in Porto, Portugal, for the project consortium meeting. This brought together partners from across the consortium to review the progress that has been achieved so far, and to agree on the next implementation steps.
The meeting provided an important opportunity for partners to discuss ongoing activities, share updates from different work packages, and prepare for the upcoming project review process linked to the first periodic report (M18).
Lara Valentin, the ToBeReaL Project Coordinator, opened the session by presenting an overview of the project’s progress, highlighting key achievements, ongoing activities and upcoming priorities across the different implementation areas.
The consortium meeting also counted on the participation of the project’s Project Officer, Giulio Pattanaro, who provided guidance on the European Commission review process and shared recommendations to support partners in preparing the M18 periodic report.
Throughout the day, leaders of the active work packages presented updates on the implementation status of their respective activities, fostering discussion around progress achieved, current challenges, and upcoming milestones.
A dedicated session was also held within the framework of WP6: Assistance Deployment for bioeconomy projects. During this session, mentors presented the companies and projects they have been supporting through short, pitch-style presentations, showcasing the diversity of innovative bioeconomy initiatives being developed within the project.
Following these presentations, consortium partners participated in a collaborative voting process to identify the most promising candidates for flagship status, recognising projects with strong innovation potential, market relevance, and prospects for scalability.
The meeting reinforced the collaborative spirit and shared commitment to advancing sustainable bioeconomy innovation across Europe within the consortium, while ensuring strong coordination ahead of the next project implementation phase.
