Workshops
The ToBeReaL “Feedstock” Workshops are a series of thematic events dedicated to exploring the full spectrum of bioeconomy resources, from agri-food and forest-based feedstocks to aquatic biomass, biogenic carbon, industrial residues, and other emerging bio-based sources. Organised as hybrid events across ToBeReaL’s regional clusters, the workshops serve as dynamic platforms for stakeholders to exchange knowledge, showcase best practices, and build synergies across sectors. Each session promotes the sustainable utilisation and valorisation of local biological resources, fostering innovation and collaboration within Europe’s evolving bio-based ecosystem.
The 1st ToBeReal Project Workshop took place on 27 May in Nitra, Slovakia, in conjunction with the Slovak National CBE JU Info Day. The event provided an excellent opportunity to present the ToBeReal Project to key stakeholders from across Europe, engage in meaningful discussions with a representative from the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU), and highlight the project’s role in advancing the uptake of bio-based innovations. Organised and hosted by the Bioeconomy Cluster, the workshop concluded with an inspiring visit to the Panara production site, where the future of biodegradable plastics is already taking shape.
Webinars
Webinar series coordinated by the ToBeReaL partners, focusing on the key barriers in technology, business, finance, law, regulation, and society that prevent bioeconomy projects from reaching their full potential and achieving flagship status.
This webinar explores the activities of the ToBeReaL project, with a focus on identifying needs and barriers in the bioeconomy sector. In this session, you will: Learn about the typical challenges innovators face when scaling up technical solutions. Hear from experts at BBEPP, ILVO, VITO, and AINIA as they share insights and present their services within the ToBeReaL partnership. Discover how open access pilot and demo facilities act as valuable European assets to de-risk innovations. Take part in virtual visits to open access pilot plants across Europe. The event highlights both the barriers and opportunities for advancing the bioeconomy, offering practical knowledge for innovators, stakeholders, and researchers.
